The six participating cities in the above mentioned project – Berlin, Copenhagen, Ghent, Ljubljana, Amsterdam and Rotterdam – are all facing a growth of the diversity of the population and the need for an inclusive policy for early childhood education and care. During the three-year period of the project eleven international partners have been working together to develop inspiring and breakthrough ideas about social inclusion, intercultural competences and – from an urban perspective – to find ways to combat discrimination and segregation within the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) work field.
Two-day international closing conference and field visits; a unique program
This conference offers and facilitates a unique program for child care experts and practicioners, participants in the ECEC work field, policy makers and researchers. At the conference the results of the Erasmus+ project Social Inclusion, Education and Urban Policy for Young Children will be presented and discussed; international keynote speakers will reflect on social inclusion with regard to practice, policy and organization; experts on inclusion of young children will give inspiring presentations and workshops. A special part of this conference will be devoted to field visits to child care centers in Amsterdam which will offer participants a better understanding of and a closer look into the Dutch child care system.
